• Authored the fiction piece “Whatevers” for the inaugural issue.

2005 - Present | Publishers Weekly - New York, NY

• Wrote several articles for Publishers Weekly Comics Week, the successful email letter of Publishers Weekly that covers the graphic novel market, for Editors Heidi MacDonald and Calvin Reid.  Wrote reviews, interviewed creators, crafted in-depth articles on news and trends in the industry. 

2005 | The Comics Journal - Seattle, WA

• Reviewed several articles working directly for Editor Dirk Deppey.  This included the “Best of 2004” edition.
• Wrote several successful news stories reporting to Editor Mike Dean.  The magazine is known for having the most penetrating news analysis within the comics industry.  Performed investigative reporter tasks including interviewing lawyers, retailers, publishers of companies and marketing directors of reputable companies.
• The highly respected magazine has been recognized by the Utne Reader as an Independent Press Awards Winner for Arts/Literature Coverage.  In 2005 they have again been nominated for this award for issues where I was a contributor.
• The magazine won the respected Harvey Award for Best Biographical, Historical or Journalistic Representation for the time I was a contributor.

2003 - 2004 | Moorpark College Reporter - Moorpark, CA

• News Editor, Editorial Editor, Writer, Advertising Manager and Distribution Manager.
• Improved the papers image working with a team that changed paper’s look. Many faculty members said the paper is the best version they had seen in years. 
• Provided extensive in depth coverage of the crisis with the Ventura County Community College District.  Interviewed the President, Vice-President and many board members for various stories.  
• Increased the magazine’s advertising sales to an all time high.  This was particularly important because of the financial crisis the schools were experiencing.  Liaised with advertisers and created accounting records.
• Honored by the Journalism Association of Community College as Editorial Editor.  As Editor I had utilized with many design programs for the Mac as well as e-mail many and other computer programs.

2000 - 2005 | Moorpark College - Moorpark, CA

• Participated in the initial successful experimental group to complete senior high school year at a Junior college.
• Obtained AA degree in English Literature.

2005 | San Francisco State University - San Francisco, CA

• Earned a B.A. in English Literature from one of the most respected English departments in academia.

2006 | McSweeney’s - San Francisco, CA

• As intern copy edited, fact checked, create subheadings and researched for The Believer Magazine.
• Also as intern researched, wrote copy and reviewed submissions for Wholphin: The DVD Magazine of Unseen Things.
